People often underestimate the importance of selecting our the right bath tub. Surprisingly, most people spend a large amount of their time in their bathrooms.

If you are rennovating or building a custom home, you should not hesitate on spending the correct amount of time on your bathtub. There are several things to keep in mind when you are selecting the right bath tub. These things include, but are not limited to the color of the bathtub, the size of the bathtub and the features that come with the bathtub.

First, the color of the bathtub. You should coordinate the color of your bathtub with the color of your bathroom and/or bedroom. You have so many colors to choose from and you are no longer limited to just the white porcelain bathtub anymore. These colors vary from black, red, pink, gold to the more traditional off-white or tan colors.

The second thing you will need to choose is the size of the bathtub. You might be limited to size and space so you will need to take these limitations into consideration. If you are lucky enough to not be limited to size, there are some amazing choices when it comes to two-person bathtubs. But remember, the larger the size of the bathtub, the more water you will use. Whatever size you choose, always be aware that the size is large enough to support your entire body.

Finally, you will need to consider the extra features of the bathtub you select. One of the great things about bathtubs in this day and age is that there are so many different features that come with the bathtubs. A few of the standard features that have been around for some time now are typical jets or whirlpools. However, the market now offers multiple features with bathtubs such as walk-in bath tubs, free standing tubs and traditional Japanese deep bathtubs that come with mini massagers. I have become a big fan of the walk-in tubs which are basically tubs that have a door that opens and you then walk through the door and then the door closes with a water-tight sealant that prevents any leakage. The walk-in tubs are great for those with handicaps or those who are senior citizens.

I think most of us will agree that a big long soak inside a tub is a great way to finish off the day after working hard or playing sports. Therefore, before you select a tub, be sure to take the above items into consideration and do not skimp on your quality of life!
