Studying Homeopathy: Bas Relief Detail Of Char...Image by takomabibelot via Flickr

By Carolyn Cooper

If you are someone who suffers from bruising easily, you will no doubt discover that you have a vested interest in examining the homeopathic path to a cure. Homeopathy is basically a version of alternative medicine that concentrates on treating and curing disorders through employing highly diluted preparations that often mirror the problems that are showing. If you are dealing with easy bruising, you'll learn that there are a variety of different herbs that can be used to try to deal with your bruising. These preparations can shorten the amount of time that your bruises are visible, and they can even help you prevent bruising in the first place.

First let's talk about how we should size our doses. Usually, you can set the dosage that you use for bruising however you please, but you will probably be best served to keep the potency of your doses more towards the mild side. You should learn every bit of possible information that you can about homeopathic remedies, particularly if this is your first time to try to use them. Your self-education might make all the difference in the world as far as the results you enjoy.

When you consistently have to deal with easy bruising, you will readily find that one of the herbs that you need to look into is arnica. Arnica is something that can give you a much shorter recovery period when you use it as a cold compress applied directly to the bruise. It can be used externally if the skin is not broken, but it should never be used if there is an open wound. Arnica has long been considered an excellent remedy for decreasing the visibility of bruising.

Another herb that has been used to reduce bruising through homeopathy is bellis, and so too are the herbs ledum, hamamelis, and ruta. These could be used in possible treatments that you might want to experiment with if you are going to practice homeopathy yourself, or if you are going to use someone who is already practices homeopathy. You should not just disregard homeopathy because its a practice that is somewhat outside of the norm for general medicine. Understand the basis of homeopathy so that you can really determine whether these cures might be beneficial for you. Have you have ever worked with homeopathy before, and what kind of results did you obtain?

Trying to find a solution that will allow you to work with bruises that you have already gotten can be quite frustrating. Everyone's body and bodily systems are made unique by their own specific circumstances, so you should consider your own uniqueness. Your age, what type of diet you follow, and your level of physical activity are all things that really affect how frequently we bruise and how severely. Homeopathy might be something that can make a major difference in our unique condition, so always give credence to all of our possible remedies. Whether we determine that we should actively use homeopathy, or take vitamin supplements, or even a combination of both will ultimately govern our results.

Anti-Aging Remedies

By Anju Mathur, MD

Aging is an unavoidable change in one's life. You hear about accepting yourself and how you look at any age. Although time does turn, there are things that you can do to stay younger in looks and function.

Don't disregard the fact that time has an influence on all of us. Choosing between a satisfying, busy and productive life or one that is filled with sad and painful years in the latter part of our life is indeed up to us because the technology is within our reach to do something about it.

Health management, using prevention, is less expensive than paying for medical care after the fact.

Preventive Measures for the Effects of Aging

The consequence of living an exceptionally long life isn't the point of this article. Rather, the topic is aging in a thriving manner, which means keeping one's physical condition and being able to be industrious up to the end of one's extended life. One should take advantage of successful techniques that aim at the concealed causes of aging as a starting point for healthy living. Natural hormone replacement along with nutritional changes and exercise can build the groundwork for an anti-aging plan.

Proper eating habits, nutritional sustenance and natural hormone replacement can prevent or curtail diseases and age-related health issues.

Living an environmentally sympathetic life style, avoiding ecological pollutants and replacement of dwindling natural hormones (most significant) will allow you (a living organism) to effectively flourish. A prudent and inclusive procedure to attain anti-aging and rejuvenation would include a program of flushing poisons from the body, determination of nutritional requirements and an understanding of their job combined with straightforward diets

Natural Hormones for Anti-Aging Health

The significant feature of anti-aging medicine is hormone replacement. To help reverse or hold at bay the natural aging process one needs to restore youthful levels of hormones.

Latest research has revealed how essential endocrine and hormone systems are to a healthy living organism. Without a well functioning system, the impact on the rest of the body is not good. The core of the system is called hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal axis, which deals with growth, energy and libido functions.

Controlling of human growth hormone (HGH) levels is a influential anti-aging technique that has in essence no side effects at all. HGH was previously ignored as a factor, but is now known to be a substance released by the pituitary gland and mostly used up by adulthood.

In the current age more attention has been put on discovering the functions of organs that until now were a mystery. Research is being done to find out the functions of glands such as the thymus and pineal.

Surprising results can occur from balancing, supporting and supplementing these glands. Also to the benefit of lessened possibility of coronary disease, bone density, and many other deteriorating diseases, energy can be boosted and vitality increased along with libido. Getting the hormone and immune systems synchronized is recognized now to depend upon the thymus function. The hormone melatonin is an essential key factor in countering the effects of aging.

Nutritional Sustenance

Contemporary farming systems have removed many of the natural vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acids, and amino acids from our food. The situation is aggravated by food processing and preservation, which adds artificial chemical compounds and leaves many people in today's culture with a nutrient exhausted body. Supplementation is necessary for a chance of a dynamic, long life, lived to the maximum.

The large amount of disease prevalent today - various cancers, blood, lymph, coronary diseases and diseases pertaining to circulation - can be positively conquered when personal drive and tenacity adds to the healing procedure. In these cases our genes could either help or hinder.

By establishing your own personal metabolic individuality and finding out how your own body is handling food, you can carry out this beneficial change. It is not what certain foods are doing to the body but how the body handles the food and nutrients given to it. Go to healthexcel.com to find out more information about how your body handles the food and nutrients it gets.

A bit of time and funds will be required to learn what to do and what not to do, environmentally, and nutritionally. The result will be good health, an extremely precious commodity.

Stop the Advancement of Aging With Specific Nutrients

Proven natural therapies that prevent and minimize age-related diseases include targeted antioxidants such as glutathione, vitamins A, C, and E, and beta-carotene, which fight free radicals. When we focus on these and combine them with exercise and a customized nutritional plan we can slow the rate at which we age. It is also possible to reverse some of the damage already inflicted over the years.

Free radicals and the damage they wreak is the central theory of why we age and they are implicated in such diseases as hardening of the arteries, high blood pressure, Alzheimer's disease, arthritis, late-onset diabetes, and Parkinson's disease. Day by day your body creates a bunch of waste materials that must repeatedly be detoxified and emptied from the body. Aging isn't caused by one aspect.

Hormone functions can be balanced by limited periods of restricted diets. The results can go on even after normal eating habits are restored. A restricted calorie diet (RCD) can be a major provider of life extension in mammals (that's us).

An Active Body is a Young Body

Would you like these improvements:

* Lose some pounds

* Decrease stress

* Ease pain, depression and anxiety

* Reduce the menace of coronary disease and some types of cancer

* Boost mood and memory

* Have more vigor

* Improve sleep

* Boost density, mass and strength of your bones

* Fortify the heart and lungs

* Improve your quality of life?

To lose weight one must consider two things - how to stop storing fat and how to start burning fat that is already stored. Exercise gives the best results for burning fat. Weight loss is nearly impossible without exercise. Over the long term, there must be a regular exercise program to manage body weight.

By adding these components of a successful anti aging program in your life you can enjoy living a much longer time.

Are You Suffering from Fatigued Adrenals?

The adrenal glands sit atop the kidneys.Image via Wikipedia

By Anju Mathur, MD

What is Adrenal fatigue?

* Tired for no reason?

* Feel exhausted when confronted with difficult situations?

* Having trouble getting up in the morning?

* Need coffee, tea or sugary treats to keep going during the day?

If you answered yes to one or more of these questions, you may be suffering from Adrenal Fatigue, the 21st century condition. Adrenal fatigue could occur in anyone who is suffering severe or constant physical or emotional stress. It is also an important contributing factor in many ailments ranging from obesity to allergies. Despite its prevalence, the medical community has largely ignored it. Although it affects millions of people throughout the industrialized world, conventional medicine does not recognize it as a medical condition.

There are other references to the subject of fatigued adrenals and it has been referred to as Non Addison's Disease, adrenal apathy, and other such names that mean the same thing. This problem can make your life extremely difficult. Adrenal Fatigue occurs when the adrenal gland cannot keep up with the requests of the body because of stress factors in one's life. The level of stress being faced by the individual determines the demand placed on the adrenal glands to produce more hormones. When the demand is constant and extreme, like in today's society where people can experience stress demands every few minutes, results in the fatigue and symptoms listed above. In such cases, the adrenal becomes so jeopardized that it impinges upon the other body functions which include balances in the body such as mineral to water, ability to convert food into energy, properly functioning heart and a persons libido. In more severe cases the adrenal glands can be so exhausted and working so far below optimum a person can feel tired all day and hardly able to function for more than a few hours at a time.

What kind of people get adrenal fatigue?

Nearly everyone, at some time in their life, will experience adrenal fatigue. It can be brought on by a sickness, emergencies in life or demanding problems, all of which can even deplete the adrenal resources of a person that has no physical problems. There are certain factors that can make you prone to adrenal fatigue. Some items that can be causes of adrenal fatigue can include a persons choice of a way of life such as cigarettes, taking drugs, not getting enough rest, a job with too much stress, not eating well or recurrent body problems including infections, allergies and so on.

How common is adrenal fatigue?

Since 9-11 occurred in the US, over 80% of North Americans suffer from adrenal fatigue sometime in their life. Sometimes it is temporary or it could last for a long period of time and could be very debilitating.

How can you discern if you are suffering from Adrenal fatigue? Here's some clues to look for:

* If you are lethargic and weary very often without cause.

* Can't get out of bed in the morning even if you go to bed at a reasonable hour.

* Feeling rundown with no energy or completely swamped.

* Can't bounce back from illness or stress?

* Have an intense desire for sugary or salty treats?

* Feeling best only in the evening?

Other physical problems that are influenced by adrenal fatigue

* Low blood sugar

* Aching tissues and muscles

* Diabetes

* Chronic recurrent infections

* Food, plant and animal sensitivities

* Chronic inflammation of the joints

* Sleep disorders

* Difficult Menopause

* Disproportion in the hormone balance for women

Adrenal fatigue is an important health problem and should be handled. It could be diagnosed and handled with nutritional and occasionally bioidentical hormones (no synthetic or animal-derived hormones) are needed to fully recover from adrenal fatigue.

Eyelid Surgery Review

Plastic SurgeryImage by the_toe_stubber via Flickr

Whenever we meet someone, whether or not it is for the first time then the first thing we do is look into their eyes. As the eyes are such attractive aspects of a persons face, it is not surprising that many people have cosmetic surgery on this area and it's especially true once a person is of mature years. No one doubts that bags under the eyes, droopy eyelids and laughter lines are not attractive but they can be treated with cosmetic eye procedures and make a person much more attractive.

It's not all unusual today to consider cosmetic eyelid surgery. Individuals who look to having cosmetic eyelid treatment want to make themselves appear younger and more vibrant.

Every area of cosmetic surgery has a different medical term and the re-shaping of the eyelid is called Blepharoplasty. Looking youthful and energetic is something that comes from eye and eyelid surgery.

A droopy upper eyelid is called Ptosis so to correct this problem an eyelid tightening procedure can be performed and the thin muscle supporting the eyelid is elevated and secured. A brow lift is the procedure in which the loose skin from above and around the eye brows can be yanked up to remove under eye bags; removing wrinkles and leaving you looking healthier and younger.

People between the ages 51 to 64 considered eyelid surgery to be the number treatment as it can benefit vision. A slack upper eyelid is the normal reason for a droopy eyelid. Scarring is rare, as the skin of the eyelid is the thinnest of any in the body. Upper eyelid surgery does have one downside though and that is the bruising and swelling that normally starts showing very soon after the procedure. If the eyelid is heavy and swollen, the fat and muscle layers behind the eyelid are also removed.

Not everyone jumps at the chance to have eyelid surgery and some individuals are considering using collagen or one of its alternatives injected instead. There are times when a patient will not have the success with eyelid surgery they expected and so to combat the problem of drooping eyelids, another treatment called Micro pigmentation or permanent makeup can be used to provide the same effect. Another use of Micro pigmentation is how it can alter the look of an eye to make it look more symmetrical without any need for surgery.

Some factors that should be considered and can affect healing are which procedures are to be performed, how easily the patient bruises, how well the eyelids are taken care of during the postoperative period, and how good of a healer the patient is.
