If you are considering using Hoodia or any type of supplement you should always be aware of any potential side effects. Even when you take prescription medications you need to know how they might affect your overall health, what their potential side effects are and if they dangerous. So what about Hoodia? Are there any dangerous side effects of which you should be aware?

Incredibly enough, there really don't seem to be many side effects of Hoodia! Those who took the supplement in a study group or on their own report very few dangerous effects from the supplement. This means no jitteriness, irritability, mood swings, rapid heartbeat, increase in blood pressure, dizziness, nausea, or other commonly felt effects from other so-called diet aids.

Those other diet aids usually work by increasing the amount of adrenaline in the system which is very dangerous and the reason why people feel those common side effects. Hoodia just doesn't work that way and thus there is a lack of side effects. With Hoodia you won't have the cravings and overeating you might normally experience because it contains a chemical that tricks the brain into thinking that you're full.

This can be a real lifesaver for those who suffer from binge eating. Realizing that there are few if any side effects of Hoodia can also be comforting for those who find that their eating is out of control or have a problem with portion sizes and snacking. Hoodia can help them to burn off the extra pounds they're already carrying while avoiding putting on any additional pounds by getting their eating under control.

One problem that some who used this supplement did experience was dehydration; this might be the only side effect of Hoodia that was ever measured. However researchers believe this happened because Hoodia suppresses thirst as well as appetite, so those who use it might neglect getting enough fluids in their system.

If you do use this supplement yourself, make sure you get enough water and other beverages. Drink something regularly even if you don't feel thirsty. Carry water with you and get used to drinking it.

While the side effects of Hoodia may be minimal, dehydration is very serious and can interfere with digestion and your health overall. Additionally, drinking water can help to make you feel full and can also help with appetite control. So make sure you have plenty of water or other beverages that are sugarless and caffeine free.

Those Free Hoodia Trials May Not Be What You Think

The popularity of obtaining free hoodia samples is on the rise. If you don't know very much about hoodia gordonii, it helps people lose weight because it's a natural appetite suppressant. Hoodia is an all-natural supplement that is very safe and has virtually no side effects. Hoodia is becoming one of the top weight loss pills on the market.

There are several brands of hoodia diet pills on the market today. In order to be competitive, many supplement companies offer free hoodia samples. The idea behind these free hoodia trials is that you'll be enticed to try the product and if it works, you'll buy more. Free hoodia trials can be a win-win proposition because the consumer gets to try hoodia for free and the company selling the product gets an opportunity to make more sales with future purchases.

Yet, there is an ugly side to free hoodia samples that you need to know about. With some people reporting that nearly 80% of the hoodia being sold are actually fakes, trying these products probably won't do you any good! Only hoodia products that are made with authentic hoodia gordonii work to suppress the appetite. Trying free samples of an inferior or fake product can make you believe that all hoodia doesn't work - and that's not true.

Before you agree to receive free hoodia samples from a company, make sure the hoodia they are offering you is authentic and not fake. The two easiest ways to identify real hoodia from fake hoodia is to view the company's CITES certificates and their lab test results which were completed through an independent lab.

CITES is a certificate that is required by all companies who import and sell authentic hoodia gordonii. If a company doesn't obtain one, they can't legally import and sell hoodia. Since fake hoodia is so prevalent, companies that sell real hoodia gordonii want to make sure that the consumers know that what they are selling is authentic. To do that, they will have their products randomly tested on a regular basis by independent labs for authenticity.

Companies that use authentic hoodia gordonii in their products will go out of their way to display their CITES certificate and their lab test results on their websites so that consumers can buy in confidence. If you can't find CITES certificates or independent lab test results on the websites of companies offering free hoodia trials, then they most likely don't have real hoodia gordonii in their products. If that's the case, you should not accept their free hoodia samples no matter how tempting it might be.

You should know that most companies will have you pay the shipping and handling on any free samples they send you. Also, sometimes agreeing for free hoodia samples may mean you are agreeing to be autoshipped more products at full price down the road.

When a company signs you up in an autoship program this means they will send you a supply of their product on a regular basis and charge you for it. Granted, these kinds of programs are very nice for someone if they are dealing with a company that is dealing in authentic hoodia gordonii products. In fact, it can be very cost effective and convenient.

If you sign up for free hoodia samples, make sure you understand how to cancel out of the trial and that you know whether you are being enrolled into an autoship program. Many companies will try to make you believe it's easy to get out of these programs. But, in many cases it's not as easy as they would have you believe.

There are countless individuals who have found their credit is ruined because they naively agreed to receive free hoodia samples. Many of these people didn't know they were going to be autoshipped anything in the future. When they would try to cancel out of the program, they were unable to get in touch with anyone, or their requests to quit were ignored. Yet, month after month their credit card is billed.

You need to do your due diligence before agreeing to these offers by reading the fine print. If you read the terms and conditions, you will see a telephone number or an email address to use when you want to cancel. Before you accept these free hoodia samples, you should call the number to see if you can reach a live person. If you do, ask them questions about the offer and get a feel for the company.

If you are given an email address, you can do the same. Send an email to see if you get a response. Do they respond in a timely fashion and do they answer all your questions? If you can't get through to a live person or if they don't respond to your emails, then don't accept the free hoodia trial!

Getting free hoodia samples and enrolling in hoodia trials is a great way to sample products and save money in the process. With a little caution you can easily weed out the bad companies from the good ones. As always, before you give out your credit card information to anyone, make sure you know who you are dealing with and do your research.
