By Sam Smailer

Palma Nova was one of the originally purpose built tourist resorts in the island of Majorca. Majorca is the largest of the Balearic islands, belonging to Spain. Constructed in the sixties, the resort is comprised of three beaches and is nearby the other popular resort, Magaluf. With the vast number of tourists visiting the place, and rapidly increasing development, both resorts have more or less grown together. If you're looking for a Palma Nova holiday, read on.

There are a number of things to do for all types of tourists and although Palma Nova, like its neighbouring resort, is particularly famous amongst the younger crowd for its lively nightlife, there are plenty of family-friendly attractions and things to do as well. Palma Nova truly has something for everyone.

It is extremely unlikely that your be getting bored in Palma Nova, since there are a great amount of activities for all the family. Some of these include windsurfing, pedal boats, scuba diving and boating trips. There are three beaches in the area and in the neighbouring resort of Magaluf, you will even find a couple of water Parks including Aqualand. Six kilometres away, there is a golf course. In addition to this you can take part in a number of other sports including cycling and tennis amongst other things.

Palma Nova is a very busy and popular resort, mostly amongst British tourists. Due to this, there are a great deal of restaurants which cater to all different kinds of tastes. You can find an abundance of international cuisine and of course some local cuisine. You will have no difficulty finding accommodation there, so long as you book in advance and you can find something that suit your taste and budget. Remember, however, that the resort is quite seasonal an almost everything closes down for the winter.

Perhaps the best place to start is by going to your local travel agency and seeing if they have any special deals on offer. You'll be able to save a considerable amount of money if you go slightly out of the season or you go last minute and find a last minute deal.
