How to Combat Mold Within Your Home

Residential mold can be found in different ways. One way to find out if you have mold, is to smell your home. Must smelling areas of your home, may mean that you have a problem with residential mold. If water or sewage pipes are close to where the smell is, your problems may be larger.

Another way to detect residential mold is to look at your walls and floor boards. If there are any yellow stains on the walls, there may be mold there. Black mold will show up as a yellow or yellow-green spot on the wall. Black mold is the most harmful type of mold and should be eradicated as soon as possible. our family can get very sick with respiration problems if you do not detect it early enough.

If you do see signs of residential mold, you need to get a professional in to do a more thorough examination of your home. A professional will take samples and have them sent to the mold lab. The mold lab will check these samples to see if there is any mold present and what type of mold it is. This is the best way to see if your home has black mold or a more easy type of mold to get rid of.

If your home has been diagnosed with black mold, you should get your family out of the house as soon as possible. As previously stated, black mold is dangerous for your family. You will then want to hire a company that will get rid of your mold problem so your family can move back into the home.

If you find a less dangerous variety of residential mold, everyday household cleaners are all that you need to remove it. When you are finished cleaning, take time to ensure that walls are thoroughly dry. This extra step will prevent mold from returning later on. Use fans and open windows to help dry out a room or wall. Once your cleaning is complete and the walls are dry, you can bring your belongings back into the room.
