Not long ago, a man in my downline group who was having problems finding network marketing success seemed to hit another stopping point in his path.
Regretfully, this man seemed to quit easily whenever things didn't go his way, and for the third time he threw in the towel a few weeks after announcing he was getting started again.
Each time, he seemed to start out with a great, can-do attitude.
What happened?
Why is that that we sometime see bright and enthusiastic people start out in network marketing, only to repeatedly make efforts to build their business to no avail? Is there something wrong with the business? I think not.
What's the deal?
There is a significant question that everyone who starts a network marketing business must ask themselves.
How badly do you really want to succeed?
Your mental attitude will dictate how far you can go and how successful you will be. Its important to examine your beliefs deeply and seek your own inner answers and truth. You must understand your real motivation.
Ask yourself a few questions. If quitting your job is your goal, how badly do you really want to quit? Is there a deep inner fear of giving up a regular paycheck and the everyday routine you're used to? Is there something deep inside you that is willing to move outside the box and take risks to achieve your dreams?
Think about what would happen if you start your business and dream about making more money and quitting that job, while at the same time having a fear of letting go of the perceived security of a regular job and paycheck? Do you have a driving force, some reasons, deep within you that are strong enough to overcome that fear?
Dig deep and decide how big a priority it really is for you to build your business, make money, and be successful. Look at how you spend your time and resources. If you get your hands on some extra money, do you invest any of it in growing your business, or use it for something else you want?
Network marketing success is a lot deeper and more meaningful that just wishful thinking, or positive thinking on the surface.
Examining your deep beliefs and motivations is crucial. Knowing yourself helps break down and destroy obstacles and barriers that otherwise would hold you back from success. I have no doubt that the man who re-started his network marketing business three times, and quit three times, had some internal issues that he never worked through.
While I don't pretend to know everything about this man's thinking, I am still able to draw some pretty solid conclusions from talking to him.
- I believe he lacked serious and deep motivation, possessing simply a moderate desire to make some money to have a better life without having a real passion for this.
- he showed a tendency to talk frequently about what he was going to do, without backing it up with consistent action.
- instead of following a system for success that he was taught, he decided to do things his own way.
To achieve success in network marketing, you must analyze and understand your own deep feelings and motivations.
The steps to performing this self analysis include:
- discover your real reason for wanting to build your network marketing business; is it enough to drive you to sacrifice time and money where needed?
- determine if you are ready to follow a proven plan and take direction from your upline leaders; network marketing success depends on this.
- are you ready to dig in and always be alert for ways to do things better and set yourself apart as a successful leader?
How deep must you dig inside yourself to find network marketing success? Whatever it takes, get it done. Your future depends on it.
