Stretch marks are a form of scarring on the skin and are caused when the skin is stretched beyond its natural elasticity. Almost every woman faces stretch marks at some point in her life and while it may not be possible to completely avoid it, there are a lot of things you can do to reduce its impact. We will focus on some preventive measures that will help strengthen your skin and increase its elasticity. These tips will help your skin cope better with stretching beyond its natural elasticity.

1.Eat fruits and greens: Since stretch marks are caused by dead tissue in the skin, eating fruits, vegetables and greens gets nutrition to your skin and help it stay elastic. You should look at foods that are rich in vitamins, calcium, proteins and other whole grains.

2.Take Vitamin E, Vitamin A, Zinc and Silica: There are certain things that will give your skin elasticity and help it stretch much better without breaking tissue and causing dead skin. 3.Drink Plenty of Water: Water helps hydrate your skin and keeps moisture in the skin. If your skin is properly moisturized then it will not dry and crack up. This helps reduce the impact the stretch marks and keeps your skin healthy and strong.

4. Massage your skin with oil: In order to moisturize your skin and strengthen it to protect against stretch marks " you should massage it with coconut oil, almond oil and other essential oils. These oils penetrate the skin and thus go under the layer of the outer skin to moisturize the skin and make it strong enough to protect against the stretchiness it will have to go through in pregnancy.

5. Use Stretch Removal Creams: There are plenty of stretch removal creams that have been created with a good mix of essential oils and vitamins. Further, there are specific creams that target reducing the risk of getting stretch marks in the first place.

6.Pace Your Weight Gain: If you are a pregnant woman who is expecting to gain weight, consult your doctor on pacing that weight gain. After the six month of pregnancy, women experience a big expansion in their abdominal area and the skin fails to keep pace with the growth in the body. A way to avoid this is to eat healthy and pace your weight gain.

You can and should use a combination of these tips to help your skin cope with the prospect of stretching and not leave permanent damage afterwards. Remember, prevention is better than cure and these tips help you do just that.
