Creative Food Photography

By James Wong

There are a number of different tips that could be learned when discussing the subject of food photography and what every food photographer should know. We will go cover a few of the introductory tips here. Some of the important ideas to keep in mind are lighting, props, quickness and enhancement. Here we will learn techniques for food photographers to take the next step.

Light

Light is obviously the tool of a photographer second to the camera itself. Getting this right is always the trick with any kind of photography. With food photography though it is super important. Get it wrong and no amount of photoshop work will bring the picture to life.

Using Props

The right props can bring a simple food dish alive. Some food types like fast food is dull and lifeless so choosing the right props of fresh fruit, vegetables, plates, candles etc will make the dull become magic. To be s good food photographer you must have a special eye and flair for design. if you have this skill naturally you will fly.

If you do a lot of food photography then shopping at second hand markets can be a great way to build your box of props. You can pick up expensive items like large pots and dishes and vases for a few dollars and a smile. If you do not do much then you may have to go shopping for what you need and bill the client!

Speed is essential

If you are a slow-coach perfectionist then food photography may be hard for your to master. Like master chefs that throw masterpieces dishes together in minutes master food photographers capture the essence in minutes too. Be quick else it will be a mess is the thing to remember with food photography. As soon as food warms or cools it droops, melts, discolours and a whole range of other things. Be ready with all the lighting and use placeholder items such as places to get the lighting right. Once the food is there you should be shooting.

Way to improve your photographs in an instant

An excellent food photographer will want to learn this last but not least creative technique when it comes to taking photographs of food. And that is to use a small amount of vegetable oil that you have on hand and brush it on the food. This will make your dish glisten and stand out deliciously in your pictures.

Touch base with the chef

You will usually be working with a food professional be it a stylist or chef. Hopefully you are not on a low budget shoot and have to do the displays yourself.

Take a few minutes before the shoot to talk with the chef and ask them how they like to work. Ask them if there is anything you need to know about the food that may not be obvious. If nothing else this will make them feel good so you will then be able to work closer and better together.

Belle de Jour: Bunuel's wry and upsetting story of a virgirial newlywed who works the night switch in a high-style Parisian brothel, unbeknownst to her spouse. Cast includes Catherine Deneuve, Jean Sorel, Michel Piccoli, Genevieve Page, Francisco Rabal, and Pierre Clementi. (100 minutes, 1967)

It Started With a Kiss: Airy comedy in reference to crazy Reynolds and her Army officer spouse Ford, trying to make a go of maniage. The film is set in Spain. Cast includes Glenn Ford, Debbie Reynolds, Eva Gabor, Fred Clark, Edgar Buchanan, and Harry Morgan. (104 minutes, 1959)

Where You Can Get Furniture on a Budget

By Dirk Williams

There are plenty of people at one time or another that find themselves having to live on a tight budget and you will often find people who are first time homeowners that fall into that category as well as people who might be going through career or lifestyle changes.

Believe it or not, it is actually very easy to come by furniture that does not look like what I call early marriage, you know the hand-me-downs and the garage sale items or the culmination of what you had or your spouse had before you got married, the stuff that really clashes. It is very simple to find furniture that does not cost a fortune and can add a more coordinated, mature look to your home.

As a single parent at one time, I had a very tight budget and post divorce, you do not necessarily want to keep furniture items that remind you of the union of marriage that has now been dissolved, so I had to find ways to make my very tight budget stretch in order to get some new furniture when I moved.

I do not want to mislead you into thinking that these ideas will instantly lead you to the perfect piece of furniture you are looking for because chances are, it wont. In fact, you will probably have to do a lot of searching to find everything you want and are looking for, but its not too hard to have a good time doing this because the trips you take to look for furniture can be quite interesting and comical as well.

One of the best places to look is at garage sales. Depending on the time of year when you are shopping, you can find some great deals on some very well taken care of furniture that people just have either no room for or just do not want anymore. The last couch I found at a garage sale was well maintained and had no flaws or stains and it was very close to what I was looking for and I was able to pick it up for $25.00. Now, seriously, how can you beat $25 for a very well maintained couch? I have not been able to find that great of a deal since, I have found some great deals, but none as great as that.

Flea Markets are another good choice because there are tons of communities that have a flea market on the weekend and vendors who are looking to make you a deal to get rid of their stock are usually bountiful at a Flea Market. Just because their furniture might be cheap does not mean it is cheaply made, remember, these vendors do not have the overhead that the owners of a furniture store do and this is why they can cut you a great price break.

Thrift stores, consignment shops, scratched and dented rooms in the bigger furniture places are all great places to look for your next piece of furniture on a tight budget. Keep these tips in mind when you are looking and also, keep in mind that you might want to discuss this with family members, they might have a great piece of furniture to add to your home that they are willing to part with or have no use for.

Really free adware removal programs are seldom available off-line, since there is no incentive to distribute them. Be aware when you choose a website from which to download a really free adware removal program, since there are a lot of dishonest sites offering false and bogus adware removal programs which really turn out to be adware themselves.

These phony programs are promoted vigorously on the Internet, and many computer users are scammed into installing what they think is a protective and safe program. If you spend some time on line, you will eventually stumble over a banner ad that warns you about the dangers of adware and spyware. You can lessen the risk of downloading a sham adware removal program by only downloading really free adware removal programs from trustworthy web pages with a good reputation.

Planning A trip To Paris- Guide To Its Modern Art and Architecture.

By Suzanne Crasto

In Paris France, the earliest sign of civilization dates back to 4,200 BC. This was when the Parisii of Gaul, which was a Celtic tribe of boaters and traders, dwelled there. The Romans brought their culture to the Left Bank, bringing palaces, baths, temples and theaters. Once the empire collapsed, rule of the city passed from Germans to the Franks to Burgundians and to the English. Finally, French kings assumed the throne again in 1436. Paris survived a number of upheavals, power struggles, revolutions, wars and disease outbreaks over the centuries. Today visitors staying in Paris hotels can see bits of history all around them, if they know where to look.

Architecture buffs have a number of places to see when they visit Paris France. You'll see palaces like the Palace of Versailles, which was built in the French Renaissance tradition circa 1678; Chateau de Villette, another 17th-century palace, crafted in French Baroque style for Louis XIV's ambassador, Jean Dyel; or the Palais de Chaillot, a stripped classical structure designed for the 1937 World Exposition. Other French Baroque palaces include the Chteau de Maisons, Chteau de Vaux-le-Vicomte, the Jardins des Tuileries, Palais du Luxembourg and Palais Royal-Muse du Louvre. In addition to palaces, there are churches in Paris that date back to the 12th and 13th Centuries, such as the Notre Dame de Paris Cathedral (1163), La Sainte-Chapelle (1238), Basilique Saint-Denis (1136) and the Cathedral of Our Lady of Chartres (1140). Mont Martre, St. Louis des Invalides, the Church of Saint-Sulpice and the Paris Pantheon are other beautiful, historic churches.

In addition to showcasing beautiful palaces and churches, Paris France is world-renowned for its impressive monuments. The Arc de Triomphe, at the western end of the Champs-lyses, was built in 1806 to honor soldiers who fought for France during the Napoleonic wars. The Eiffel Tower was the tallest structure in the world from 1889 to 1930 and is considered one of the most romantic spots on the planet. For architecture buffs who also are intrigued by history, the Invalides museum is the burial place for French soldiers like Napoleon, Turenne and Vauban, while the Panthon church holds the bodies of Voltaire, Victor Hugo and Marie Curie. There are two Statues of Liberty located on the le des Cygnes on the Seine and in the Luxembourg Garden, which was the prototype for New York's famous monument. The Paris Opera house and the University of Paris in the Lation Quarter are other beautiful places to Paris visitors.

Paris fashion is known for stylishness in much the same way as New York, Milan and London. Paris's reputation for fashion began at the turn of the 19th century, when Charles Frederick Worth opened up a fashion house containing clothes with his signature label. He began advising clients what to wear and designing new ensembles for them. Prior to that, rich nobility would hire no-name seamstresses to tailor custom garbs. Talented illustrators composed sketches of new clothing designs for magazines, which started to draw the international spotlight to Paris couture. Notable designers to come out of Paris France include Coco Chanel, Christian Lacroix, Jeanne Paquin, Christian Dior, Jean Paul Gaultier, Michael Kors, Guy Laroche, Givenchy, Giorgio Armani, Gaspard Yurkievich, Yves Saint Laurent, Louis Vuitton and John Galliano.

If you are passionate about food, then you can come to Paris and request a food tour from www.edible-paris.com, www.viator.com/paris-food-tours, www.poshnosh.com/tbkaf/foodlover-paris.html, www.meetingthefrench.com or circatours.com/tours-wine-cuisine/paris-food-fairs.htm.

Whether you stay for a romantic weekend at hotels in Paris or you spend several weeks soaking it all in, you'll find all that Europe has to offer all in one world-class city

What to Consider When Choosing a Hairstyle

By Toni Moretti

There are numerous factors to take into account when choosing a style of hair, as this tends to be a very personal issue. You want to be certain that the style you choose will suit you the best. No one wishes to spend lots of money to change their hair look or color and be somewhat disappointed by an outcome of looking particularly average or ordinary. Be honest, with yourself during this process as it will be only you which needs to be satisfied with your choice of hairstyle and color.

If you happen to have a facial feature that you are not pleased about, you likely do not want to choose a style that is going to accentuate this. For example, if you feel that your eyes are a great asset, then you would not wish to cover them with a style that has long bangs hiding your eyes.

On the other side, if you were displeased about having a large forehead, then you would likely want to choose a style that would cover it up like a fringe or large bangs. The most important, personal and valuable thing you absolutely must do is a self-assessment of your face and features.

Then you should be looking at photos of people with similar features and assess what they have done to their hair and decide how it will look on you. Photos of celebrities would be the best place to start this process, as their stylists are the best at making their good features stand out and hiding the not so favorable features, as well as having such great advice for these stars. And so by selecting the stars that look as close to you as possible, the process of choosing a hair style that bests suits you is now that much more easy.

Other issues you will need to take into account when considering a new hairstyle would be: 1. Permanent- are you seeking a new style for a specific event, such as a graduation or prom, or will this change be more of a permanent toe that you wish to keep for at least a couple of months.

2. Age- your age should certainly be a factor in your new style and almost dictate what the appropriate style should be.

3. Time- not only do you have enough time for the initial appointment but does your lifestyle provide you with enough time to style and maintain your hair style on an ongoing, regular, and daily basis.

4. Budget- again not just at the initial appointment but also on an ongoing basis are you capable of affording any specialized products that may be required to maintain your new hair style.

Qualified hairstylists are a great source of advice in this matter. They are perfectly suited to assist you with the advice you need and help you make the most logical and practical decision regarding you choices.

It is always best to do research first a have a selection of styles you prefer as compared to styles you dislike and discuss these with your stylist. This gives your professional stylist a greater and more precise understanding of what it is you are looking for in a new style.

It better prepares them to lend advice and assist you in the choosing and decision making process to ensure a perfect style that you are not going to be displeased with. After all, your hairstyle says alot about you and is especially important in first impressions.
