Finding An Enjoyable Cairo Holiday

By Larry Jones

Enjoying a real Cairo holiday is easier than most might think. This is mainly because leisure travel costs have gone down in recognition of the shaky global economy. Travel to almost everywhere, in fact, has dropped off a bit, which has made taking a holiday in Cairo, Egypt - home to much history and impressive structures like the Pyramids - pretty attractive when it comes to price.

Also known as 'the Triumphant City, ' Cairo itself is a huge megalopolis with millions of people living within its borders. It is also the capital of Egypt, and is located close to most of the pyramids of the long-ago ancient kingdom of the pharaohs, at Giza. One of the most well-known of man-made objects, the Sphinx, also resides there.

There's a lot more to Cairo, though, than pyramids and the Sphinx. The region is also home to ancient temples and Christian churches as well as many Muslim monuments and also the famous Egypt Antiquities Museum. The city is also a go-go place and is alive and vibrant almost 24 hours a day and just about every day of the week.

A far as the best way to get a look at the old and the new in Cairo, a holiday surely can't be beat. One can visit ultra-modern shopping malls one minute and then step outside and visit an ancient temple or Muslim monument right next door. If one is into open-air shopping in markets and bazaars, then Cairo is probably the best place in the world to do so. And the Cairo Opera House can't be beat for culture and class.

The town is also known throughout the Middle East as "The Paris of the Nile, " mainly due to its cosmopolitan look and the manner in which people from the world over intermingle with each other. Temperatures at certain times of the year can be a little high, but the average year-round climate is temperate and inviting. Accommodations range from very inexpensive all the way up to super costly.

As a city, Cairo has been around in one way or another for century upon century. It's also a town that is completely at ease with both its ancient past and its completely modern present. For those holiday goers desiring to experience the old and the new in a city, a Cairo holiday might just be the best ticket around.

Kids And Weddings

By David Trumble

As you begin thinking about your wedding, you have many decisions to make. Some will be easy, but others will be very difficult.

To invite children or not to invite children to your wedding is a decision often filled with strong feelings.

Like a hurricane, the winds of strong feeling blow through the house. Those who love children and want them to attend are at odds with those who are bothered by children and feel the kids destroy everything. In the center of everything, a vacuum forms until a decision is made.

Your feelings count on this critical issue. Children may pose a personal threat or blessing in your mind, but either way your feelings count.

Do you dream of family or do you envision an adult event with adult activities?

How will people feel about this decision or that? Do you care? How can you work with people who have differing ideas, opinions, and feelings?

Like many other decisions you will have to make concerning your wedding, deciding to invite children or not can be full of emotion and challenges.

Since many children are well able to attend weddings without posing particularly big problems, you may well decide to invite children to attend your wedding. This does not require you to have children participate in your wedding party itself.

When children are invited, it is always a good idea to anticipate their needs. Many churches offer cry rooms at the back of the sanctuary with large sound proofed glass panels so parents can see what is going on and even hear by way of speakers, without disturbing the audience.

Perhaps, the simplest and most common decision on this issue is to bury your head in the sand and let the guests decide about their children on their own. Again, if this is a family styled affair you will probably have no problem. However, if this is a definitely adult setting, the parents will usually manage to remove their children without your having to say a think.

I remember, five year old Sally. Her cousin was getting married, but you would have thought that this was her big day. She was so excited she bubbled over with smiles. Dressed in her pretty dress, she joined her mother about a third of the way back from the altar. When the bride came down the aisle, Sally could not contain herself, There she is Mom. Some might say that her enthusiasm was the highlight of the ceremony.

If you love children, they make everything worthwhile. They ignite feelings of enthusiasm that few adults can match. They make us laugh and cry. They can turn ordinary into extraordinary. Children are in many ways what family weddings are all about. If you are fortunate enough to enjoy them. Still, it is your choice to invite or not to invite children to your wedding.

Careful thoughtful planning can resolve potential problems either way. A suggestion, that your reception will include an adult venue, will alert parents and they will understand. Planning for the children will help reduce problems and keep things running smoothly.

Must Have Baits For Mid Summer Ultralight Bass Fishing

By Ramsey Solynn

When people conjure up thoughts of ultralight bass fishing during the mid summer heat, they typically return to thinking about the air conditioning, and television. What the hey, it's more comfortable anyways, right? What you don't realize is that you just cost yourself some of the best bass experiences you could have imagined.

One of my favorite ultralight bass fishing techniques is topwater. Who doesn't love topwater fishing? When I speak of the subject though, 2 main lures come to mind. Buzzbaits, and poppers. I have caught more fish with these 2 lures, than any other topwaters in my collection.

The best time to use these baits is either in the morning, or evening, or when the clouds are overhead. This is what I was talking about earlier. People want to use fast moving baits during the summer, which is good, but they don't use them at the right times.

The water is heating up this time of year, and bass can't regulate their body temperature. If the water you are fishing in isn't real deep, the body of water will warm up to a level the bass isn't comfortable with, and won't want to eat or chase a bait until it cools back down.

When the sun is high in the sky however, the fish can't look overhead for their meal. They don't have eyelids to protect themselves and their eyes from damage. It is easier to stay in cover, or look down for your meal, until the sun settles in. This is when I head for the worms and jigs.

The jig and worm are perfect for when the sun is shining bright, because they can be bounced slow or fast across the bottom, stirring up the silt and attracting attention. Finding fish with these baits is a slow going method, but you have to be patient if you want to be successful and catch more fish anyways!

Beginning from the Bedroom Furniture Stores On the way to Your Bedroom

By Kelly Kim

The way you handle your bedroom furniture is at all times significant if you want to extend its life. However, you may not be able to do it the right way without proper planning and understanding the fundamentals of its construction. It doesn't matter whether you're dealing with a whole bed or a bedroom furniture dresser or a tiny nightstand. When it comes to moving it, the rules are collective.

First thing to do is map the path to your bedroom. Pay attention to items that may be bumped along the way. These could be low-hanging fixtures, glass and other fragile decors and even doorknobs. When possible, clear the way of anything that may distract you from properly supporting the furniture you're about to move.

If there's more than a comfortable amount of obstruction, wrap the piece in any form of padding to keep it safe from scratches and denting. Yes, even your bed has to be wrapped when necessary. Part of planning the moving path is looking into where the furniture goes. Humidity and temperature must be considered, especially when moving wooden pieces which can react significantly to changes in environmental factors.

The construction of the bedroom furniture should also play a role in determining how to correctly move it. Those with removable parts will naturally require you to practice more caution. Always look for a stable point where you could lift the piece safely. Usually, this is a point that allows the piece to maintain a sense of balance while you're moving it. A firm grip on both hands is also essential which makes cotton gloves unwise to wear.

When you're essentially moving the furniture, make sure you're lifting it and not just dragging it along the floor. This is very crucial when moving items with removable parts as you wouldn't want to end up with everything detached and sitting on a damaged floor. If the furniture is simply too heavy, a spring or platform bed, for instance, making use of a trolley should make things easier and safer.

Lastly, time is the last thing you'd like to worry about when moving furniture. If things are too busy one day, don't hesitate to postpone the move till things are cool and easy. Even with quality bedroom furniture, you need to take your time making sure it reaches its destination scratch and dent-free.

TV Stand Ideas

By Maggy Mae

Do you enjoy standing out from the crowd. I know I do. I don't mind how the rest of the world goes round and I don't dislike the status quo, but, I really love that feeling that I am unlike anyone else--that I have my own tastes and styles that others may not consider proper or even acceptable at times. May I'm just naive, but I am always very comfortable with my decisions I make, not because they are rogue but because they are genuinely good decisions.

This is true, even in the small or unimportant choices I make day to day. So when I look for something to adorn my home, I like to look for something I find unique or just a bit different to fit what I feel is my style. In the time I've been writing about home entertainment furniture, among other topics, I've found some of them that I wanted to share with people who have similar feelings. Here they are, the unique audio-video furniture I would like to find a way to incorporate into my home.

I love the entertainment furniture that is made by those who are against technology getting into their personal life. Seriously, I have even found some pretty exciting entertainment centers made by our friendly Amish community. Now, my particular understanding of the Amish community is that they like to preserve traditional values and methods of doing things. As this is the case, they refrain from using motor vehicles such as cars or tractors. They do not watch TV or videos and they don't use cell phones. However, what they do is make furnishings and other handmade anything that is unparalleled in quality and craftsmanship. Maybe it's a little cynical, but I love to support my modern technology with furniture made by those who refuse to take part in it.

A month or so ago I attended a "green" products fair, and found some really amazing work by a company who was trying to save the rain forest. OK, maybe that wasn't their whole focus, but it was a part of it for sure.

Greentea Designs travels around the world to gather what they call "reclaimed wood" which is wood from structures that would normally be thrown out, burned, or otherwise destroyed. In this way, the do good for the environment and can make amazing end piece furniture that anyone would love to have on display in their house. Take a look at some of their work. It is second to none. It is a bit pricier, but hey, you're saving the rain forest.

The last thing I wanted to mention is something that seems to have walked right out of the movies and into your living room. A motorized entertainment center. That's right, with the touch of a button on your remote control on a switch on the wall, you can reveal your set as if by magic. Revealing itself from what seems like an average furniture piece, you can amaze your friends and family with a futuristic style that few people have hanging around the house. The only catch may be that you may forget it isn't a surface to put miscellaneous things on (kind of like the bar is at my house) and have to clean it off before indulging in your favorite Star Trek flick, well, either that or the price. But think of how cool you would be!
