Witty Parodies on Lost

By J. D Theis

Have you ever imagined the hard work which goes in behind the creation of lost parody? A normal parody on lost will not last more than five to seven minutes. Thumps Up to the Fine Brother who has been successfully creating lost parody for over three years now.

The concept pioneered by them became so popular that even the ABC guys felt obliged to encash on it. well they dint go on to make spoof on their best-ever in house produced show, but they did utilize the concept of narrating the saga of lost through 'action figures', an idea hit upon by the FineBrothers for creating the parody on lost. The ABC came up with Lost Untangled, a weekly series that recounts the events that have happened on the lost in the previous episodes.

The makers of lost parody are not just serious followers of lost, but also follow other shows and series on which they create the spoof. Credit should be given to the innovative and creative thinking of the makers to create a parody on lost. For example in the parody of Star trek spocks uses the costumes of sylar to reach the enchanted islands and he also makes use of the combined powers and tries to save the earth. Sylar who is one of the gifted heroes, his character is spoofed in this episode.

When Sulu saw him, she was also not able to figure out whether he was spock's or not. Finally spocks ended up muttering same actor wrong toy. This is just an example as to what extent the spoof of lost can go to generate interest of the viewers. Before the launch of the parody on lost it was mentioned by the makers that lost parody can be a mixture of many other shows and series.

To get the complete coverage of lost parody you can log on to www.lost-tv-show.com and check out the latest happenings in the parody on lost and enjoy the magic. All the episodes of the lost parody are available in high-definition so, that you can enjoy parody on lost in high quality sound and picture.

Get Rid of Toenail Fungus: Causes, Prevention & Treatment

By Rashel Dan

Anyone can get rid of toenail fungus. Treatment can take time, though. However, it can be stopped with the application of proper treatment and a few changes in lifestyle.

Toenail fungus or Onychomycosis is a fungal infection of the nails. This happens when fungus lives around and under the nails and feeds on the keratin that makes up the hard surface of the nails. Toenail fungus are harder to treat than fingernail fungus since it is more exposed to the dark, warm and damp environment caused by wearing socks and closed shoes.

How do we acquire the infection? You can pick fungus up while walking barefoot in public wet areas. Such places include public showers, saunas, spas and swimming pools. Having a manicure or pedicure in professional nail salons may also be one cause of toenail fungus, especially if they do not sterilize their tools regularly. Wearing enclosed shoes and nonabsorbent socks made of synthetic materials could also be another reason.

If you have a weak immune system, you're also likely to be susceptible to infection. Other health risk factors include a history of medical conditions like diabetes or poor circulation. Genetic vulnerability may also be another factor.

Nail trauma is also another cause. Activities like running or playing sports can easily rupture a nail plate. The moisture that is trapped in shoes and socks can then make its way into the nail cracks, inviting the nail fungus in and making it even harder to treat.

Of course, poor hygiene can cause toenail fungus. Thoroughly drying your feet and toes is very important to prevent fungal growth in your toenails.

Prevention

Don't go barefoot in communal wet areas. As much as possible, wear your own protective footwear such as sandals when using public showers, pools and other wet areas.

Remember to always dry your feet. After swimming, showering, or washing your feet, thoroughly dry your feet using a clean towel (your own, don't share). The spaces between your toes are where moisture is likely to be trapped so pay close attention to it.

Regularly trim your nails. Trim your nails straight across and refrain from digging too deep in the corners. Avoid wearing nail polish as it can seal in the fungus. Also, nail polish can prevent sunlight from penetrating under the nail, which makes the dark environment even more preferable to the fungus.

Make sure you use clean tools. If possible, do manicures and pedicures by yourself. If it can't be helped, at least use your own tools which you disinfect on a regular basis.

Treatment

Forgo the home remedies. They are generally ineffective. Oral prescription medication is a no-no since it produces negative side effects that could even lead to death in extreme cases. Topical solutions are safer and more effective to use. It is made of natural essential oils such as tea tree, almond, clove, and lavender, which are known to promote healthier looking nails. They are less expensive, easier to use, and has no known side effects. This is the choice for you if you want to get rid of toenail fungus faster and safer.

Chuck Rosenthal Paintings

By Penny Logan

Chuck Rosenthal's well known still life paintings in oils and pastels do not eclipse his other work. Indeed, some of his landscapes and paintings of people in local scenes may outshine his still lifes.

Sometimes you look at a painting and you wonder about the artist who painted it. What is his idea of art?

An artist's statement is the artist's own write up of what he is trying to accomplish with his art. This is what he says:

"I believe that truly Fine Art encompasses every aspect of the visual experience, from dramatic, or at least, interesting placement of the elements in the painting to the truest atmospheric values within the capability of the artist. All of this is intended to create an impact on the viewer that is so real as to provoke an emotional response. Strong contrasts of form and lighting are an important component.

"Looking at the long view of the development of western art one would see that there is a progression of stiff, awkward drawing gradually developing, over time, into the most sophisticated and articulate forms imaginable.

"Fortunately, traditional values in art are undergoing a revival in our time and I am greatly pleased to be a part of it."

For a little background on the artist, he attended the National Academy of Design in New York City starting in 1963, hoping to embark on a career in commercial art. His first year was spent studying under Morton Roberts, a great illustrator and fine artist who passed away long before his time. Initially the intention had been to learn to draw so as to be able to do illustration, but after three months commercial art was forgotten and fine art had become the goal.

In his first year at the National Academy he was awarded a six-month scholarship to the Academy. Several years later he was awarded the Dr. Weller student prize at the Academy. In addition, though the efforts of Daniel Greene, one of his teachers, he was awarded a scholarship membership in the prestigious Salmagundi Club, America's oldest arts and letters club, and won an honorable mention in the 1968 scholarship membership competition.

During the intervening years, Mr. Rosenthal painted off and on, learning, but unable to devote the kind of time necessary to achieving a career in fine art. Progress toward the possibility of achieving a career was further delayed by illnesses in the family over a period of about 15 years.

However, in recent years, since moving from New York to Clearwater, Florida, the goal of working as a fine artist has come to fruition. A pastel painting he did of a local landmark, the Clearwater Memorial Bridge, was purchased by a corporation and donated to the Clearwater City Hall. He's won several awards since 2000, in Clearwater Fine Arts shows, and his paintings of the bridge was included in an international juries competition.

Several of his paintings are on exhibit at the Park Place Gallery in Kansas City, Missouri.

Advanced Singing Techniques - Control Your Breathing

By Ryan Smith

One of the most essential but often disregarded views of technical singing is to develop a solid breath control technique. New or undisciplined singers don't even know that by breathing right, they can hold a note longer, have a more lasting tone and will not become breathless easily. That is why having right singing lessons before a singer launch his/her singing career is so critical.

Many individuals always wondered about the importance of breathing proficiencies when they already have been breathing their whole life. If they don't how to breathe then they would have already passed, wouldn't they?

The fact is, singing breath control is more than simply knowing how to breathe. It is a breathing proficiency and can produce a world of a difference if you require to sing well. To most people, taking a breath merely implies that you are just occupying 2 bagfuls (your lungs) with air and then forcing them out over your vocal cords, right? WRONG! It is often much more than that.

So what is the proper singing technique? Well, have you heard about singers uttering about singing from the diaphragm? Well, what they are speaking about is the singing breathing technique or breath control by your diaphragm.

When you take a breath, are you permitting your belly to move out of the way of at rear of the bags (lungs)? If not, you won't start with sufficient air to get you through a number of notes without expecting to breathe in again. Hence you will get breathless pretty promptly.

The correct way to take in air is to breathe in a pleasant, deep breath and envisage breathing that breath into your tummy. If you do that, your stomach will expand outwards, out of the way of your quick occupying up lungs. That means that your lungs will have more capability to take in more air and when you breathe out or exhaust the air when singing, the normal movement of your tummy coming back in acts like an accordion, influencing the efflux of air. In this way, your singing quality will be more tight and enjoyable to listen to.

Due to the fact that you are now producing more air with each breathing space, you are now in condition to hold notes longer, able to hit higher notes and will not get breathless as easy too.

Now the immediate thing to learn is to let your vocal cords be the controller of the air supply, letting what it demands to pass through and at the same time breathing ordinarily.

There are numerous philosophical systems on breathing proficiencies for letting the air passed through your vocal cords, like do you "let" the air out, do you "hold" the air back, do you "push" the air out.

You see, the most general trouble with running out of breathing space when singing has little to do with breathing although it does play a part! That problem has to do with leaving too much air to outflow when you are emptying your lungs during a song. If your vocal cords are coming together with a solid firm seal, it takes very little air to sing a solid and regular tone!

Even so, if you are singing into falsetto or if you have not learned your chest sound at all (some women really have this problem), you will be allowing extra air escape while you are singing and you will be running out of breath much earlier than you wish to. So by using the proper method of breath control when you sing and you will never commence breathless again.

Things To Bring On A Cruise

By Amy Nutt

Going on a cruise is a very exciting time. A cruise is filled with fun recreational activities, great dining, a wide variety of quality entertainment, and much more. Because going a cruise means being on the water far away from the stores on land, there are a number of essential items that one should bring.

1. Clothing: When selecting the clothing you will take, you have to consider what ports you will be visiting. Warm climates will require light clothing, shorts, bathing suits...etc. If you are going to colder climates such as Alaska, bring warm clothing, coats, gloves, hats...etc. If you will be attending formal dinners, make sure you bring the appropriate attire that fits the occasion.

2. Health Items: When going on a cruise, there will be a variety of different foods and beverages that may result in an upset stomach. You also may get sea sick, headaches, or minor scrapes. One should bring a medical kit that includes an antacid, aspirin, band-aids, and antibiotic ointment.

3. Useful Items: A few items that you may require include: hair dryer, alarm clock, books for late night reading, sunscreen, sunglasses, flashlight with batteries, and a note pad and pen to make notes about what activities you want to take part in. You will also want to bring binoculars to look out over the ocean and perhaps see dolphins, whales, exotic birds...etc. Don't forget prescription glasses and your contact lenses and spares. Walkie-Talkies are great a method of keeping in contact with one another on the ship.

4. Cameras: If you want to have a keepsake from your cruise, bring a camera or video camera. You can even purchase underwater cameras for swimming when you are in a port.

5. Electronics: When bringing an MP3 player, compact CD player, laptop, or PDA, make sure you have batteries. As well, don't forget your cell phone and charger.

6. Important Documents: Necessary documents that you will need include: passport, I.D., cruise tickets, maps, guide books, and traveler's checks. You can also bring language translator if you are gong into a country where English is rarely spoken.

7. Medical: it is important to make sure you bring any identification that indicates that you have a medical condition (medical bracelet.) As well, bring any important medications that you require on a daily basis. Keep a list of medications with you in case of an emergency. Tell the cruise medical staff if you have a condition that they should be aware of such as epilepsy. Also, if you are allergic to foods or medications, make sure you inform the medical staff. Bring a list of emergency phone numbers.

8. Traveler's Bag: Assemble a travel carry bag with all of the important items that you should keep with you at all times. (Travelers checks, walletetc.) Watch out for people who pick pocket by keeping your items secure when you are on the ship and out in the ports.

The best method of ensuring that you bring all the essentials on the cruise is to make a list. This will make packing much easier, and when you are heading out to sea on your luxurious vacation cruise, you will be relaxed knowing you have everything you need.
