How to Have fun at Craft Fairs

Agra, India, street craft.Image via Wikipedia

by Mara Hernandez-Capili

Everyone of us have been to craft fairs and we all have extreme fun to be there. There are also craft fairs that are downright boring and seem to be a waste of time and energy to go to. I know for I have been to one. The food was a-okay but the attendants are not- they must have forgotten about customer service for they are not smiling all throughout the event. There are also vendors that sell goods that are not of good quality.

At craft fairs you are entitled to have fun and have a great time but the problem is how? How can we differentiate a bad craft fair to a good one? Every experience at craft fair should be a good and rewarding one, otherwise the whole point of going is useless. Craft fairs should be fun and engaging places to relax, unwind and have a great time.

How to distinguish a good craft fair to a not so good one? First: check the lessons or instructional classes they have and try to have a go with these questions. Are they recent? Are they relevant and in tune to what is happening around us? Are the beneficial? And if they will benefit you, will the benefit everyone else?

Second, inspect the food kiosk or counters. Look if what they offer are good and mouth enticing delicacies. Hey, it is possible that you'll get hungry or thirsty in the event while checking out the craft fair and a good meal should leave you always in a good mood. See if the food is agreeable and for sure you will have a lot of great stops in the craft fairs.

Third, check out the place, the bazaar and the performances. Is the place a great venue to hold a craft fair? Is it safe? Are the items at the bazaar winners? Do the sellers offer respect and answer the buyers' questions adequately? Do the performances further enrich the experience? If the answers to all of these questions are a resounding YES-then you're indeed going to have fun at the craft fair.

Caring for Your Indoor Bonsai

Bonsai PlantImage by shotfinder via Flickr

by Kim Archer

Bonsai plants are the stunning result of an ancient practice. Because of their attractive appearance, lots of people like to have a bonsai plant in their homes. However, extra care is needed for indoor bonsai trees. This is largely due to the fact that they don't get the full range of benefits that sunlight and normal weather conditions provide. Perhaps they look like they can withstand anything. But certain types of bonsai are quite picky in their water and light requirements.

Watering Your Indoor Bonsai

When you bring a bonsai tree indoors it will require lighting to replace the natural sunlight that it would have been receiving beforehand. You will also need to monitor how often it is watered. Well ventilated surroundings will also keep your bonsai plant at its best. The variety of bonsai plant that you possess will dictate how how often it requires watering. Soil is another important consideration. Some bonsai plants or trees require damp soil, whilst others survive well in a drought. It may be necessary for you to mist your plant. This creates a humid environment similar to a rainforest, which your bonsai will love. If using a humidity tray, be sure to place the pot on some small rocks or a stand so it isn't directly immersed in the water.

Bonsai Cutting and Pruning

Indoor bonsai trees still require pruning and cutting on a regular basis in order to maintain their appearance. Just because bonsais look ageless and timeless, this doesn't mean they don't keep growing. It is important to repot indoor and outdoor bonsai plants anywhere from once yearly to every three years depending upon what kind of plant or tree it is. It is also important to maintain the branches to keep its style intact. Depending on the type of bonsai, it's important to reduce the amount of fertilizer you use during the winter. This is due to the fact that there are certain species of bonsai that hibernate during the season. So they don't require as many nutrients as in the warmer months. Indoor bonsais may not fully experience the full cycle of seasons because it is in an artificial environment. It is also important to check indoor bonsai trees for pests and other anomalies. An indoor bonsai is very attractive to mites, spiders and other pests. Carefully cleaning the branches and leaves with a soft brush or moistened cloth is the best approach.

By following these tips for bonsai care, your tree is sure to be an attractive feature of your home for years to come.

A Look at Cat Breeding

JAKARTA, INDONESIA - MARCH 12: A cat and a dog...Image by Getty Images via Daylife

by Elias Maseko

For over a thousand years, cats and their people have lived together in some association. Currently, they are the second most kept pet, trailing only behind dogs in popularity. Caring for cats is still easy to do, even if you are away from your home or apartment for long periods of time during the day.

The basic food and attention needs of cats are not as large as the typical dog, who needs long walks frequently. These creatures can be a great pet for anyone because they are very adaptable and can live almost anywhere and would even live happily, healthy and comfortably in a small apartment. Many people consider them to be a great pet because their need to play and show adoration of their owners is balanced by a very faithful streak to their family, regardless of the owners' ages.

Since the majority of the cats kept as pets are a mixture of more than one breed, they are not a pedigree. Only 3 percent of domestic cats are purebred, there are no distinct advantages or disadvantages of buying a purebred and they can be very expensive. More than 100 breeds of purebred cats exists, thanks to the classification efforts of global groups.

Notable differences exist between the separate breeds, of course, as you can tell by looking at the unique breed shapes, sizes, coat color, coat length, eye color, and individual personalities. There are two main categories of cats: short hair and long hair. The short hairs outnumber the long haired varieties.

Long hair cats are harder to care for because they need daily grooming, they are at a higher risk of having hairballs. You'll have a more difficult time taking care of cats which have the longer hair, particularly when it comes to fleas or grazed skin.

Credit Repair After Bankruptcy

Eliminating credit card debtImage by David Robert Wright via Flickr

by William Yon

Declaring bankruptcy can be a gut-wrenching decision. It carries such a negative connotation and it is often seen as the last resort. However, how much more destructive is it really than trying to hold on and catch up to pay off your current debt?

Financial and credit problems can cause an overload of stress. Creditors calling every hour of every day and going through the difficulty of trying to make ends meet every month can be taxing to say the least. The stress remains so long as you have the delinquent debt and delinquencies can stay on your credit for 7 to 10 years causing you problem after problem.

After a bankruptcy you can start to rebuild your good credit. You can also find relief from the credit problems you are having because the slate will be erased. You start building good credit again and the easier it gets. The bankruptcy itself will stay on your credit for 7 to 10 years but the good credit you start to build afterwards really helps repair your financial future. You can start living so that you can start prospering again.

Credit problems will remain with you for 7 to 10 years no matter what you do. With a bankruptcy you can clear the slate and start over. If you continue to try to catch-up your bad debts you will continue to have the stress and the credit problems will affect you for just as long. Some problems are better to walk away from so that you can start over and begin again.

Immediately after a bankruptcy is discharged you can begin to repair your credit. Go to your local bank or credit union and get a small loan to pay on. They will probably charge you a higher interest rate but this should not be too much of an issue since you will only be borrowing a small amount and the plan is to pay it off as quickly as you can after you get a few timely payments recorded on your report.

You can also get a secured credit card. Many credit card companies offer credit cards based upon you making a deposit of cash into an account. Start with $500 to $1000, get your secured credit card and you have the process of rebuilding your credit started.

Immediately after you do these things your credit report will start recording a small improvement, unlike if you have late payments or delinquencies. The bankruptcy will continue to be reported but the good credit will start to show also. Trying to handle excessive credit difficulties can seem like the noble thing to do but in the long run it usually doesn't work out as well as just starting over. After a bankruptcy you can begin to rebuild on solid footing but if you are playing catch-up on bad debts you can't.

Bankruptcy is a serious decision. It should never be taken lightly and it can be a difficult process but at least you can get it over with and begin anew. Sometimes that is the best solution to a big problem.

How To Locate People On The Internet

borange, facebook, and google walk into a well...Image by wellohorld via Flickr

by Dana Goldberg

Ever wondered what happened to that old crush you had in high school? Trying to locate that guy who still owes you $10 in lunch money? Looking to hook up with the people who used to mean something in your life, or you've lost touch with? Here's a few methods describing how to find people for free, just a little effort on your part.

These days one of the best places to find people online for free is by searching one of the big social networking sites such as Myspace, Facebook or Friendster. In case you are trying to find a former co-worker have a look at Linkedin.

How should you start searching on the big social networking sites? You will find a search box on every site. So all you need to do is enter the person's name and click search. You will get results within some seconds. Please keep in mind that if you are looking for a woman, she might be married and changed her last name. You could also try searching only using the firstname. However, if you are looking only for "Susan", then this might take months to find the Susan you are looking for.

The second method that works great on huge social networking site is creating an acount yourself. It's free, so you can join as many social networking sites as you wish. Put your whole name up there and add as much information as you can: where you went to school, where you lived, where you worked. It is a good idea to upload a photo.

If the social networking sites did not give you any results you might want to try a straight Google search. Go to Google, type the name of the person you are searching for into the searhc box and wait for the results. In case your lost friend or relative has a very common name, it is advised to include hometown or high school name in your search. Very often this will bring up class reunion results. Class reunion results are a great way to find old school mates.

The last method is checking phone listing sites, like whitepages.com. This can be best if you know first and last name as well as the city they're located in, but there will be little detail to go on to verify that you've got the right person. But it could give you clues to help you track the person down.

What is the reason why you should stay away from dating sites? There are three reasons: first of all there are thousands of dating sites out there. So chances that you will find your friend are low. Second: most dating sites charge a fee if you want to view profiles or contact someone. And third: most people use pseudonyms. This is why it will be hard to find someone.

In case the methods described in this article to find people online for free did not give you results, I highly recommend joining a People Search service. These services cost around $20, however, you will get comprehensive results with some mouse clicks. Reports will include phone, address, previous addresses, marital status, criminal history and a lot more.
